Though on paper this sounds good and reasonable, it is 180 degrees of the mark. Placing them stateside comes at the expense of another Soldier, Sailor or Airman, who has probably already deployed and is supposed to be in a down cycle, having to turn-around and deploy BEFORE it is their time to deploy again.

I find it hard to believe that the applicable mother's have no In-Laws, mother, father, grandparents or siblings that can be entrusted to take care of their child while they are deployed.

The servicemember's signed up voluntarily, have reaped the benefits of the GI Bill and military training, and now have to pay the piper.

My husband is in the army and knows first hand that in the case where the father and mother are in the service the family has to have a family plan in place. This is where they have a relative or friend who has agreed to become the legal gardian and take care of their child or children in the case that both husband and wife were called upon serve. If this family plan is not, or cannot be put in place than one soldier has to get out.

I Think what Gina said is correct if there is no parent at home then there are plenty of things needed to be done here at home we as U.S. citizens need our reserves at home too.

I wholeheartedly agree with you. I don't think we are that hard up that we need to put mommies into the war. She got her Honorable Discharge. They should honor that and not punish her just because she is a mommy. How despicable can the Army be? Have they no heart? She won't be much good on the front anyway as she will always be distracted worrying about her children. God Bless her. Let her alone!!!
